BIJL PR WINS INTERNATIONAL PR AWARD WITH MARKTPLAATS HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN

Bijl PR wins an International PR award! On Thursday evening in Frankfurt, we received a Sabre Award for the Marktplaats holiday campaign. This award is given out every year to the best European PR campaigns. The Marktplaats campaign was awarded in the Benelux category. Every year, almost 2,000 cases are submitted worldwide. A huge honor and recognition for our work!

Marktplaats: gift second hand toys more often

Gift used toys more often instead of giving new products. It makes no difference to children, but all the more for the environment, our wallet and the world. This is the message Marktplaats conveys in its holiday campaign. Marktplaats is the platform for buying and selling second-hand products and contributes to a circular economy. Together with partner agencies Happiness-Brussels & Higuita, Mediacom and Maxlead, we are launching an integrated campaign that combines earned, owned and paid media in two phases. We target (grand)parents, caregivers, policymakers. We set our sights high: a non-scripted experiment that was the subject of a TV commercial, press releases, personal meetings with politicians, advertorials, online ads and the use of influencers. And with great results! The most important ones in a row:

  • The campaign is unmissable and puts (grand)parents in motion;
  • 10% more demand for second-hand toys on Marktplaats, more children received second-hand toys as gifts and were equally happy with them;
  • Representatives of thrift shops openly support the campaign in interviews with journalists and welcome more visitors to their shops;
  • Potential reach: 27.5 million people through a total of 161 publications: 83 print articles (incl. forward placements), 58 online and 20 radio and television items;
  • More than 2 million people reached through influencers on social media.

Nominated five times

Bijl PR was nominated no less than five times! The campaign for National Climate Week commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate was also nominated in the Benelux category. In the E-commerce category, the Marktplaats holiday campaign made another appearance. In the Telecommunications category the T-Mobile project Our Song. The final nomination was for our Central Library Rotterdam campaign in the Education and Cultural Institutions category. Although we did not win an award for these campaigns, the nominations are a huge compliment to the client and to us!
