Two PR-award nominations for Bijl PR
Proud moment! Bijl PR has been shortlisted not once, but twice for the international SABRE Awards – a prestigious accolade recognizing excellence in PR campaigns. We’re in the running with two campaigns:
- ‘Heart Check Points’ for the Dutch Heart Foundation
- ‘Malnutrition on the Menu’ for Danone/Nutricia
At Bijl PR, we’re passionate about driving attention to issues that truly make a difference. Heart health and malnutrition are causes we care deeply about, so these nominations are a wonderful recognition of both our team and our clients. Curious to learn more about our work? Read more!
Raising awareness of heart health with Heart Check Points
Many people between the ages of 40 and 70 are living with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease—often without even realising it. In the Netherlands alone, nearly 1.8 million people are affected, making prevention and early detection absolutely vital. Time for change. That’s why the Dutch Heart Foundation introduced Heart Check Points: free, accessible locations where people can have their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels checked—no appointment required.
In close collaboration with the Foundation, we developed the Heart Check Bus: a travelling mobile unit bringing these vital health checks directly to the public. The bus visited twelve cities, quite literally taking Heart Check Points to the people. Combined with compelling statistics, this created a powerful foundation for PR. The results were outstanding, with extensive coverage across national, regional and local media. And… long queues in every city, with waiting times sometimes exceeding two hours. A clear sign of the campaign’s urgency and impact—earning it a nomination in the ‘Marketing to Seniors’ category.
Helen Taylor, Project Lead and Consultant:
“Campaigns like this are what truly excite me—where strategy and execution come together seamlessly. Working as one team with the client made this project incredibly rewarding. Being nominated for a SABRE Award is the perfect finishing touch.”
Nutricia puts malnutrition on the menu
Did you know that hundreds of thousands of people in the Netherlands are affected by malnutrition? And yet, many assume it could never happen to them. Research* shows that 85% of Dutch people are (almost) never concerned about malnutrition. That’s why Nutricia, part of Danone, set out to put malnutrition firmly on the agenda. The brief to Bijl PR: develop a campaign that raises awareness of malnutrition and its consequences among the general public, so it can be recognised earlier—and more effectively.
We created a multi-layered campaign, Malnutrition on the Menu, complete with its own visual identity, research, influencer collaborations, offline materials and a targeted media approach. The result? A reach of at least one million people, with strong coverage in national, trade and regional media, including AD, Nationale Zorggids, Omroep MAX and Den Haag FM. Our online strategy—featuring influencers and an advertorial in the Chantal & Tina podcast—generated over half a million impressions. We’re incredibly proud that this campaign has been nominated in the ‘Consumer Health’ category.
Estelle Hendriks, Consultant at Bijl PR:
“We’re extremely grateful to team Danone/Nutricia for placing their trust in us to develop a campaign around such an important issue. Our team approached Malnutrition on the Menu with great passion and dedication. We were already proud, but this nomination makes it even more special.”
