The nominations for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.excellence-awards.com\/shortlist\/\">European Excellence Awards 2024<\/a> have been announced, and we are among the lucky ones to be nominated again this year. And to top it off: we\u2019ve been nominated <span class=\"circle\">twice<\/span>! Every nomination makes us proud, because awards feel like a wonderful reward for working with our clients and as a compliment on our work. Although the ceremony is not until December 6th in Berlin, the nominations only are an honour.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><br>What have we been nominated for? The PR approach for the <span class=\"underline\">National Sugar Challenge<\/span>, which we carried out in cooperation with the Dutch Diabetes Fund, received a nomination in the Benelux category. We received our first ever nomination in the Participation Campaign category with the same campaign. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be among the winners! Are you keeping your fingers crossed for us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>The National Sugar Challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, 1.1 million Dutch people have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and <span class=\"circle\">1.4 million<\/span> are in a preliminary stage of the disease with pre-diabetes. These people are at high risk of developing the disease. The necessity is huge! That is why the Diabetes Fund organised the National Sugar Challenge for the seventh time, and Bijl PR was commissioned to generate extra media attention for this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">The National Sugar Challenge kicked off on Monday 10 June and was unmissable in the media. We achieved dozens of publications, reaching a large audience through national and regional media as well as lifestyle platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Phased successful approach<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">We went for a <span class=\"underline\">phased approach<\/span>, with preliminary research and a combination of one national and 12 regional press releases to launch the week. We put together a PR toolkit during the week and used an AI-created image as the closing press photo. With the survey results, we created a strong news angle and achieved national media coverage, as well as publications in regional and lifestyle media. All this resulted in a total of 217 publications with a potential reach of 100 million people and a PR value of 900,000 euros. In the end, over 100,000 Dutch people participated in the National Sugar Challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">Berlin, here we come!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Great news!
