BIJL PR JOINS CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

BIJL PR JOINS CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

A true passion for the communication business. That’s the reason Bijl PR officially became partners with the Centre for Strategic Communications on Thursday, January 23rd. This non-physical institute of Logeion (the Dutch organization for communication professionals) wants to make a connection between communication sciences and practice. Together with over twenty of CSC’s other partners, Bijl PR supports, among others things, the ‘Leerstoel Strategic Communication’ at the University of Amsterdam and enables scientific research into (strategic) communication from CSC. The Hogeschool Leiden also joined CSC on Thursday.

Scientific insights

It’s important for the field of communication to constantly keep up with new scientific discoveries and insights that touch upon our profession. Insights coming from communication science, and other relevant disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, and public administration science contribute to a wider knowledge of the field. Scientific research gives our profession more legitimacy, contributing to more social relevance. Together with CSC, Logeion gives an extra impulse to the argument that professional communication is a strategic discipline that could make a difference.

Chair will form a bridge

The ‘Strategic Communication’ Chair at the University of Amsterdam is part of the CSC. With this chair,Logeion and the University of Amsterdam want to build a bridge between the mostly separated worlds of academic research and the field of strategic communication in practice.

Logical next step

A partnership with the Centre for Strategic Communication feels like a logical next step for Bijl PR. As advisors, we always try to look at our own work objectively, so we think it’s important to incorporate scientific insights into our advice.
