Making the Netherlands safer with neighbourhood defibrillators
When a cardiac arrest occurs, every second counts. The chances of survival are highest when CPR is started and a defibrillator is used within six minutes. However, 4 in 10 Dutch people do not know if there is a defibrillator available in their neighborhood. In residential areas, there are still not enough defibrillators available 24/7, even though most cardiac arrests occur there.
