Just allow me to write! I enjoy writing in different genres: from press releases to interviews and from letters to website texts. If possible, I like to write for a wide variety of customers. That's what I enjoy doing most of all in my work, and it is the area in which I have free reign to express myself as a Bijl copywriter. My job involves a great deal of variety in my work, which suits my personality perfectly. I prefer to combine this with shop floor humour, as it is relaxing, puts things into perspective and often forms a good source of additional inspiration.

I also like to see humour in my free time. British comedy series such as Absolutely Fabulous, Fawlty Towers, Catherine Tate, Are You Being Served and Little Britain in particular are fantastic. They are sharp and magnify imperfections, sometimes a bit close to the bone, and I believe we can learn a lot from this in the Netherlands.

Sport plays a major role in my life. Keeping fit, swimming, cycling - a healthy spirit works better in a fit body. Let's be honest, isn't it good to give people something nice to look at? I've been known to be a bit vain sometimes. I'm happy to fight the inevitable physical decline my body will undergo.

I also read and watch everything about the Holocaust. It started as child with a fascination for Anne Frank and her diary. It led to the wish to understand how this terrible act of genocide could ever happen in such a gruesome, industrialised manner in the hope that we can draw lessons from this in order to prevent anything like this from happening again.
