Well, how do I explain who I am in a few words on the internet. A challenge because what do you want to know about me?

The- a lot at the same time-type
That I am the type of person who likes to do a lot at the same time? I like doing a lot of different things during the day, work with different types of people for a varied portfolio of clients and projects. Always keeping my eye on quality, keeping a good overview and staying calm at all times. Different hats on, alternate roles as senior advisor, project leader, unit manager and of course ‘just’ a colleague. Wonderful! The daily dynamics at Bijl, makes everyday a great day!

Builder
That I am a builder?  In relationships, because I prefer working with people over a longer period of time, so that you can understand each other the best way possible and build each other’s strengths. But also in projects: I prefer putting my teeth in a project for the longer term in stead of a quick- win type of project (although a variation of projects can be very pleasant) It could be that it is because I am a builder, that I gained my working experience in construction (at a building corporation and the Dutch School for Real Estate Management – NOVAM of Reed Elsevier).  And again working within Bijl, I work with clients in construction and infrastructure (Regieraad Bouw, Provincie Zuid-Holland)

Socially responsible
Or would you rather read that I am ‘involved’: with clients, projects, colleagues and our society. One of my motives in my work is most definitely, ‘social relevance’. I get a lot of satisfaction out of being a unit manager within Bijl. There is nothing more rewarding than coaching my colleagues and helping them in their careers and also getting their feedback in return.  And my enthusiasm ( or should I say hobby) for “Sustainable Business” (or Sustainable Responsible Business if that term suits you better). It was not just a coincidence that I did my internship a the ‘green’ Triodos Bank in Zeist. And now, working with Bijl,  I can indulge in actively building our Sustainable Business Specialty within our company. Obviously,  I do this from a communication point-of-view;  for Bijl itself, but also for Shell Social Investment, the Ronald McDonaldhome Sophia Rotterdam and the FRES foundation

Active little bee
It will come as no surprise that I am an active little bee in my spare time as well. I enjoy the city life (whether it’s Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Madrid or Bangkok) for sight seeing, a sip and a (local) bite, some culture and entertainment. I like sports such as tennis, fitness and skiing. During my holidays I prefer travelling through far (and mostly sunny!) places, with a day at the beach to get some piece and quiet.
